VIDEO: Illinois Deserves Better

Dear Aaron, The election is now only two days away, and I'm sure you've heard a lot of candidates talking about their jobs plan.  Everyone seems to have a 10 point plan that will restore our economy immediately. You know better than that.  Rebuilding Illinois' economy is going to take a lot of hard work, and it won't happen overnight. But this week, I was happy to announce a series of investments that are going to lay the tracks for our recovery.   • On Tuesday, I announced that Ford was bringing a new plant to Illinois, along with 1,200 new jobs and $400 million in new investments. • On Friday, our application for high speed rail funding from the stimulus came through.  Illinois is going to get $1.2 billion in federal money, and 6,000 new jobs. • And yesterday, Exelon announced that it's joining the FutureGen Alliance, which could bring over 2,600 jobs and $1 billion in sustainable energy investments to Illinois' heartland. I'm taking action to bring jobs and growth back to Illinois.  But my opponent's campaign has done everything it can to confuse voters by spreading false information about me with negative attack ads, robocalls, and nasty mailings. We can't let these attacks stand.  We have to fight back and tell people the truth. We already have volunteers knocking on doors, making phone calls, and spreading the word, but they can't do it alone.  They need your help. You know and I know that we deserve better.  We can't afford to get bogged-down in name calling when there's so much at stake.
