Choice

Dear Friend,
A funny thing is happening across Illinois.
A candidate for Governor is talking about a complicated and – let's face it – not particularly exciting issue. A candidate is demonstrating that he has a plan, and the calm, quiet competence to put it into place and get our state back on track. A candidate is treating people like adults.
And guess what? It's working.
Dan Hynes began his campaign by introducing his comprehensive plan to get the state's finances back on track. He discussed targeted spending cuts. He discussed the modernization of our tax code. And he talked about his plan to make our income tax structure more fair and progressive, sparing 97 percent of Illinois families a tax increase.
And now he is taking his plan on the road, presenting his ideas to people in communities across Illinois. Last week Dan was in Arlington Heights to present his plan. Yesterday, he met with the Journal-Register editorial board in Springfield. In fact, there's a good chance he'll be visiting your community between now and Election Day, complete with his PowerPoint presentation. And as more and more people hear about his plan, they realize they have a choice, and they like what they hear.
We see it everyday. Support around the state for Dan's plan and his candidacy is growing. But if we are going to continue to build on the early progress Dan has made, then we'll need your help.
Please contribute $150, $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can give so we can continue to spread our message of reform and make our tax structure more fair and progressive.
It may be common sense, but it's undeniably true: when people hear about Dan's plan versus what Pat Quinn has proposed, they choose the path of fairness, progress and respecting the middle class. They choose Dan Hynes' comprehensive plan.
And it's not just people on the street. Our campaign picked up key labor support this week when three unions: the Bricklayers, the Cement Masons, and the Insulators endorsed Dan on Monday. This comes on the heels of major endorsements from the Carpenters and Laborers unions, and tells a simple truth: those whose livelihoods depend most on getting the economy back on track and putting people back to work are lining up behind Dan.
This campaign is picking up momentum. We have a real plan, and we have the best candidate to go to work on the issues that are most important. We are offering voters a real choice, and they are choosing real leadership.
Thank you for all you do.
Very truly yours,
Michael Rendina
Campaign Manager
Dan Hynes for Governor
P.S. We have great momentum taking us into the fall, but it takes supporters like you to make sure voters learn about Dan's steady leadership and plan to get Illinois back on track. Please consider volunteering and making a contribution of $150, $100, $50, or $25 at our Web site.
