Lowering the Minimum Wage?

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

If you want to know what we're up against, here it is:

Today, Senator Bill Brady proposed LOWERING the minimum wage.

We were astonished, too.

Brady has shown repeatedly that he is completely out of touch with the concerns of working families. He opposes equal pay for equal work and family medical leave, but this latest proposal is outrageous.

Can you contribute $250, $100, $50 or $25 to the campaign now? We know what we're up against, and we have to fight back.

Here are the facts: Last year, some 390,000 people earned a living on the minimum wage. The Illinois minimum wage is set to increase on July 1 to help workers make ends meet.

Under Senator Brady's proposal, these workers and their families would lose over $2000 a year working 40 hours a week.

Senator Brady has once again demonstrated his disregard for the hard-working people of our state. His solution to our economic problems is to turn back the clock on one of our most basic and essential worker protections.

Click here to donate to the campaign - we can't let Bill Brady turn back the clock on workers and their families.

Bill Brady is simply too extreme for Illinois.

Illinois workers - literally - can't afford Senator Brady.

Sincerely,

Mica Matsoff
Communications Director
