Get Involved: Live Blog, Campaign Office Grand Opening, Petitions

Logo

Dear Friends,

After another solid week of bringing his comprehensive budget plan to communities all over Illinois, it is clear that the more middle class families hear about Dan Hynes' fair, progressive plan to hold the line on taxes for 97 percent of Illinois citizens, the more they favor and trust his ideas over those of any other candidate for governor.

We're working hard to get the word out, and we know you are too. As Dan always says, we can't do this - any of this - without you.

There is a big opportunity to get involved this week.  Join Dan on Saturday, October 10, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. for his Campaign Office Grand Opening. Click Here to RSVP.

This week, we're excited to announce that even more supporters like you have a chance to get involved. Check out the opportunities below, and see where you can make a difference. (Also, take two minutes to visit our volunteer page).

JOIN DAN'S LIVE BLOG TODAY  A little later this morning - at 11 A.M. CDT - Dan will be live-blogging on his Daily Kos diary page in the comments section, personally answering questions about his vision for the bright future of Illinois from supporters all over our state. If you have a question about how his comprehensive budget plan will work for middle-class families, what the lack of MAP Grant funding for college students means to our state and your family, or other important issues facing Illinois, then stop by and join the conversation.

OFFICE GRAND OPENING  On Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Dan will host the Dan Hynes for Governor campaign office grand opening at 57 W. Grand Ave., Suite 300 in Chicago. It's a great location, that's easily accessible by car, CTA, and Metra. The Grand Opening will be open to everyone, so make sure to bring your friends, some family, and the kids! If you know you can make it, RSVP here. Drinks and light snacks will be served.

SEND US YOUR PETITIONS   When Dan kicked off his campaign, he asked all his supporters to download petition sheets so they could be passed around in the community. Now, as the petition deadline draws closer, we want to make sure that all your hard work in collecting signatures is counted. To make sure that happens, we're asking that you return the petitions to our Chicago office as soon as you can. Petitions need to be returned no later than Oct. 20, 2009. This might sound like a far-away date, but all of us get very busy, so don't forget that last, important step, and send us your petitions!

To send in your petitions, mail them to:

Dan Hynes for Governor
57 W. Grand Ave.
Suite 300

Chicago, IL 60654

After you've dropped your petitions in the mail, please e-mail me at volunteer@danhynes.com, or call me at 312-670-2010, so I know to keep a look out for your package.

Your support has been crucial in joining Dan's cause to get Illinois back on its feet, and he knows that together we can fix our state.

Thanks for all that you do.

Claudia Chavez
Dan Hynes for Governor
