Women for Hynes

Logo

Dear Friend,

As a physician specializing in women's health, I see the unique challenges women face every day, and my husband Dan and I both know the importance of having public servants who address women's issues. That's why, as comptroller, Dan expanded the role of his office to work tirelessly as a consistent guardian of women's rights in Illinois and spearheaded the effort to pass the Adolescent Healthcare Safety Act.

My husband is running for governor because Illinois needs a leader who will address the historic challenges facing our state. His comprehensive budget plan restores our state's long-term fiscal stability while maintaining important social service agencies, including vital programs that protect women against domestic violence.

But Dan needs your help to make sure we get this chance to make women's rights a top priority. Please visit our new "Women for Hynes" page at http://www.danhynes.com/womenforhynes to download a packet on Dan's record on women's issues, sign-up for our women's newsletter, and watch my introduction video.

From Ida B. Wells and Jane Addams to Carol Moseley Braun and Dawn Clark Netsch, women from Illinois have been at the forefront of our efforts to stand up for women's rights. And that's how it will be in 2010. When Democrats go to the polls on February 2nd, they're going to decide the direction our party and our state will take at this critical juncture in history - and about 60% of those voters will be women.

Please visit our new "Women for Hynes" page to email your friends about Dan's record on women's issues, sign-up for our women's newsletter, and read testimonials from women who are supporting Dan. Invite your friends and ask them to join Women for Hynes.

Thank you for all you do.  Together, we can put Illinois back on the right track.
