It's Time to Act

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

This is a critical and exciting moment.

Governor Quinn is keeping us on the road to recovery - creating jobs and working with businesses across the state - but the election in November will determine our direction for the next four years.

And the contrast is stark.

Senator Bill Brady is out of touch with the Illinoisans I know. He touts his skills as a businessman, but it's clear that he does not understand how difficult it is for many Illinois workers just to put food on the table.

Can you stand with Governor Quinn and me by donating $250, $100, $50, or $25 to the campaign?
Bill Brady Taxes Button

Despite making millions over the years - and over $78,000 this year from his taxpayer-funded Senate salary - Brady was able to avoid paying taxes three out of the last four years.

And just last week, Senator Brady proposed LOWERING the minimum wage in the state of Illinois. A full-time minimum wage worker will make $17,000 a year - and that's after the increase fought for by Governor Quinn. Brady's proposal would cut their wages by over $2,000 a year.

Click here to donate $250, $100, $50, or $25 today, and we'll send you our limited-edition button. It's sure to be a conversation starter.

This is the hard truth: Senator Brady is a millionaire who doesn't understand that people who work hard shouldn't have to live in poverty.

You can make sure that we move Illinois forward, not backward. We need to elect Governor Quinn.

We need your help to make sure that we can compete with the Brady campaign financially. Please help us today.

Sincerely,

Sheila Simon
Democratic Nominee for Lieutenant Governor

PS - Our campaign will be judged on how much we're able to raise by today (June 30th) - please help us make a strong showing by donating $250, $100, $50, or $25 right now.

Lowering the Minimum Wage?

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

If you want to know what we're up against, here it is:

Today, Senator Bill Brady proposed LOWERING the minimum wage.

We were astonished, too.

Brady has shown repeatedly that he is completely out of touch with the concerns of working families. He opposes equal pay for equal work and family medical leave, but this latest proposal is outrageous.

Can you contribute $250, $100, $50 or $25 to the campaign now? We know what we're up against, and we have to fight back.

Here are the facts: Last year, some 390,000 people earned a living on the minimum wage. The Illinois minimum wage is set to increase on July 1 to help workers make ends meet.

Under Senator Brady's proposal, these workers and their families would lose over $2000 a year working 40 hours a week.

Senator Brady has once again demonstrated his disregard for the hard-working people of our state. His solution to our economic problems is to turn back the clock on one of our most basic and essential worker protections.

Click here to donate to the campaign - we can't let Bill Brady turn back the clock on workers and their families.

Bill Brady is simply too extreme for Illinois.

Illinois workers - literally - can't afford Senator Brady.

Sincerely,

Mica Matsoff
Communications Director
Quinn/Simon for Illinois

PS - Support Governor Quinn with a donation of $250, $100, $50 or $25 today. We can't let Bill Brady take Illinois backwards.

Honk if you support Pat Quinn!

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

Everybody in, nobody left out. That's the Pat Quinn way.

In this campaign, we rely on supporters like you to donate what you can. We're up against a major fundraising deadline, and we need a final push.
Quinn Bumper Sticker

Republicans know about the deadline, too.

The Republican Governor's Association is pouring money into our race, hoping that their money will mask the fact that their candidate, Senator Bill Brady, has no plan to get Illinois back on track.

With a broad base of support, we can show the Republicans that this campaign is about the people of Illinois.

Can you contribute $15, $20, $50 $100 or whatever you are able to the campaign? We'll send you a Quinn bumper sticker!

The key to our victory is people like you getting the word out to family, friends and neighbors about Governor Quinn's plan to keep Illinois moving forward.

Here is your opportunity to receive a campaign bumper sticker to show your support for Pat Quinn and our campaign! If you haven't donated to the campaign yet, please help us as we make one last push to the June 30th deadline.

Please click and donate $15, $20, $50 or $100 or what you can to the campaign right now. Show your support for Governor Quinn in two ways with just one click.

Thanks for all you do. With your support, we'll get over the line in November and continue making sure that, in Illinois, everybody's in, and nobody gets left out.

Sincerely,

Ben Nuckels
Campaign Manager

Help us keep Bush-o-nomics out of Illinois

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

The week, Senator Bill Brady will welcome Jeb Bush, former Florida governor, to Illinois for two fundraising events benefiting his campaign. His choice of champion is fitting, since Bill Brady adheres hook, line and sinker to the George W. Bush School of Economics.
George Bush School of Economics

So what did Bill Brady learn from GWB? The same failed economic policies that drove us into the current recession:

  • Tax cuts for the rich

  • No corporate accountability

  • 10% across-the-board cuts to healthcare, public safety and education

Bill Brady continues to go back to the well for backward policies and politics of the past.

Help put Bush policies behind us by volunteering for the Quinn/Simon campaign!

It's clear that Governor Pat Quinn and Senator Bill Brady offer two radically different visions for Illinois - one moving Illinois forward and one taking our state backwards.

Governor Quinn says we must strike a balance - cutting the budget where we can, while continuing to invest in jobs, education and a workforce trained for the future.

Illinois is now leading the Midwest in job growth, and Put Illinois to Work - one of Governor Quinn's recent jobs initiatives - is on track to create over 10,000 new jobs for Illinois workers.

Will you volunteer for the campaign and help us keep moving Illinois forward?

If you want to move Illinois forward, come to our "Keep Bush-o-nomics Out of Illinois" rally in Bloomington on Wednesday, featuring Lt. Governor Candidate, Sheila Simon. Unlike Senator Brady's event ($5000 a plate), it's free. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and desire to keep Illinois on the road to recovery.

On Wednesday and in November you have a choice: policies and politics of the past or a progressive vision for the future.

Sincerely,

Mica Matsoff
Communications Director

PS - If you can't make it Wednesday, please sign up today to volunteer for the Quinn/Simon campaign. We need engaged supporters like you to help us ensure that voters understand what's at stake in November.

Help us fight the lies

Quinn for Illinois

Dear Aaron,

This week, Senator Bill Brady made it clear that - when it comes to Illinois' economy - all he's ready to do is lay blame.

Brady's new ad, funded by the national Republican Governors Association, blames Governor Quinn alone for the economic troubles of our state. No mention of the national recession and the backwards policies that created it.

Perhaps that's because Bill Brady's only 'plan' for Illinois relies on the same George Bush economic policies that got us into this in the first place. Tax cuts for the rich, less accountability for corporations, and disastrous 10% across-the-board cuts for everyone else.

Help us fight back against third-party attacks by donating $500, $100, or $50 to the campaign today.

We all know that Illinois, like the rest of our country, is facing tough economic times. Governor Quinn knows that it's important to strike a balance – cutting state spending while investing in education, jobs, and training Illinois' workforce for the future.

Bill Brady won't tell you this, but here are the facts:

  • Under Governor Quinn, Illinois is leading the Midwest in job growth;
  • He signed Illinois' first jobs bill in a decade, creating over 400,000 new jobs;
  • He spearheaded a small business tax credit to help small employers hire more workers;
  • And he created Put Illinois to Work, which has put over 6,000 people back to work, 2800 in the first week alone.

Can you donate $500, $100, or $50 to the campaign to help us set the record straight?

This is a national crisis. Now, more than ever, we need progressive, forward-thinking solutions, and not Bill Brady's policies and politics of the past.

Help us set the record straight and keep Illinois on the road to recovery.

Sincerely,

Ben Nuckels
Campaign Manager
