15 hours left to double your impact!

With only 15 hours before our deadline, we're still $13,515 short of our goal. We urgently need your help today: Click here now to have your tax-deductible gift doubled to help Faithful America fight twice as hard for our most vulnerable neighbors in 2010.

Last chance to have your tax-deductible gift DOUBLED.

Faithful America is still $13,515 short of raising the funds we need to fight for thoughtful, principled solutions to health care, immigration and climate change in 2010!

Don't wait! Have your tax-deductible gift matched by midnight tonight.

Dear Supporter,

The next 15 hours are our last chance - so we're writing one last time to all our Faithful America friends who haven't yet given.

Our matching grant deadline is midnight TONIGHT, but we're still $13,515 short of raising the funds we need to fight for those most in need in 2010.

Help us take full advantage of this amazing opportunity. Make your tax-deductible gift before midnight and our generous donor will match it dollar-for-dollar.

So many people are counting on us to keep getting their voices heard in 2010: The uninsured. The immigrant families fighting to be reunited. The farmers losing their crops to climate change-related droughts.

They are the ones who stand to lose the most if pundits and special interests claiming to speak for people of faith are allowed to derail meaningful debate on the pressing moral issues of the coming year.

If you seize this last chance to have your tax-deductible year-end gift doubled now, Faithful America will have the financial resources we need to keep our most vulnerable neighbors at the center of the debates on health care, immigration and climate change in 2010 by:

  • Launching nationwide ad campaigns;
  • Facilitating media trainings for religious leaders;
  • Flying faith leaders to DC for top-level meetings with Congressional leaders;
  • Booking religious leaders on TV to counter the hysteria of shock-jocks and special interests claiming to speak for people of faith; and
  • Responding quickly and effectively major news issues by inserting the voices of people of faith.

Thanks to people like you, our faith community has made amazing progress in 2009.

We can't afford to lose the ground we've gained by stopping now.

Please, have your tax-deductible year-end gift doubled now help Faithful America push for values-based, productive solutions to health care, immigration and climate change in 2010.

Thank you for all you do - and our best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!

Will we rise to the challenge?

Our matching gift deadline is December 31st, and we're still $17,330 short of our goal.

We can't wait another year for real solutions for health care, immigration and climate change.

Donate today to have your tax-deductible gift matched dollar-for-dollar.

Your doubled gift will help Faithful America fight twice as hard for those in need in 2010.

Dear Supporter,

Forty-six million still without health insurance. Families torn apart by a broken immigration system. Climate change threatening the survival of the world's poorest nations.

In order to rise to the challenge of the most pressing moral issues of 2010, we need to raise $20,000 to run our strongest campaigns next year.

But with just three days from our matching gift deadline, we're still $17,330 short of our goal.

It's not too late. Please, give before this Thursday, and your tax-deductible gift will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, to support Faithful America's work in 2010.

The funds we raise today will determine the strength of the campaigns we can run in 2010. But unless we can count on your help right now, we won't have the resources to get these critical campaigns off the ground in time:

  • Fight for health care reform. We'll follow up on the success of our 40 Days for Health Reform campaign by making sure President Obama signs health care reform legislation that will provide strong, affordable health care to for all American families.
  • Reunite immigrant families. By organizing creative vigils and advocacy days, we'll put a national spotlight on the thousands of separated families who are paying the price for our broken immigration system.
  • Help developing nations deal with climate change. We'll keep up our DaySix.org campaign to make sure Congress passes legislation to help developing countries protect themselves from the life-threatening effects of climate change.
  • Harness the power of the faith vote in the 2010 elections. By organizing and polling people of faith around the country, we'll make sure all our voices are heard, not just those of the religious right.

With your help right now, we can make these campaigns a reality - please have your tax-deductible year-end gift doubled before it's too late.

Together, we can create principled solutions to the pressing problems of health care, immigration reform and climate change.

Our best to you and yours as we count down to the New Year!

Fight twice as hard for those most in need

Dear Supporter,

From today through Dec. 31st we have a chance to fight twice as hard for our deepest faith values and our most vulnerable neighbors in 2010.

Until Dec. 31st, a generous donor is matching all gifts up to $20,000 to help Faithful America work twice as hard for real solutions to health care, immigration and climate change in 2010.

You can make it possible. Have your tax-deductible gift matched now!

The uninsured mother who can't afford to get sick.

The families kept apart by a broken immigration system.

The developing nations who've already begun to bear the brunt of climate change-related disasters.

They are the ones who stand to lose the most if partisan pundits on talk radio and special interests claiming to speak for people of faith are allowed to derail the debates on health care, immigration, and climate change.

That's why from now until December 31st a generous donor has agreed to match all donations up to $20,000 to help Faithful America fight twice as hard for our deepest faith values and our most vulnerable neighbors in 2010.

Help us take advantage of this amazing opportunity. Click here to have your gift automatically matched dollar-for-dollar.

Everything we accomplished this year proves that, working together, the faith community can effectively counter the angry, go-nowhere politics of division.

This summer, our 40 Days for Health Reform campaign generated tens of thousands of calls and letters to show Congress that people of faith strongly support health reform. In August, more than 300,000 people of faith listened to our health care webcast with President Obama and faith leaders from across the country.

Already, our DaySix.org petition is focusing Congress's attention on the policies and funding that developing countries need to prepare for the life-threatening effects of climate change.

No longer do the narrow, partisan interests of the religious right get to speak on behalf of the entire faith community. Our work together on these important moral issues has helped tell another story about people of faith in public life -- we've gotten noticed by Congress, the White House and the media.

If you have your tax-deductible year-end gift doubled now, Faithful America will have the financial resources we need to build on our progress in 2009 by:

  • Working to ensure Congress passes strong heath care reform by early 2010.
  • Organizing innovative immigration events and vigils to put a national spotlight on how our broken immigration system keeps immigrant families - even families that include U.S. Citizens - waiting months, years, even decades to be reunited.
  • Continuing our DaySix climate change campaign to prevent the life-threatening effects of climate change from devastating our neighbors in developing countries.
  • Getting the voice of our faith community heard in the 2010 elections by organizing media training for religious leaders around moral issues in key states and amplifying their voices in the press to make sure issues like health care and immigration are part of the faith agenda. We'll also do polling around the values most important to the faith vote -- a way to demonstrate to the media and Congress that the religious right doesn't speak for all of us.

Our community has used creativity, hard work, passion and moral force to put our most vulnerable neighbors at the center of the most pressing debates of 2009.

We can't afford to lose the ground we've gained now. Donate by December 31st to have your tax-deductible year-end gift automatically matched dollar-for-dollar.

Your support today will help Faithful America push for values-based, productive solutions to health care, immigration and climate change in 2010.

Thank you for all you do - and our best to you during this holiday season!

No Surprise

Logo

Dear Friend:

I just wanted to send a quick note about the recent polls that confirm what most of us already knew, but that is still very welcome news. I would call it a holiday gift, but, like I said, it's no surprise.

Yesterday, Rasmussen Reports issued their second series of Illinois election polls that show Dan as by far the strongest Democratic candidate next November.  In fact, while Dan leads all Republicans, Governor Quinn would lose badly to the GOP frontrunner, Jim Ryan.

Table

We've known for a while that Dan is the only Democrat who can win next November, and now there's independent confirmation. Your contribution of $150, $100, or even $50 today will help keep our campaign going strong.

This is pretty good news, but it's no secret given what we hear each and every day on the campaign trail, from people in every corner of the state who are looking for real leadership and fresh ideas. They know and they sense that things aren't right, and that we can do better here in Illinois. They know the Republicans, especially lately, don't really share their values and aren't very good at governing. But they are skeptical, too, of the party that gave them Rod Blagojevich.

They want a choice, and Dan is offering a clear alternative.

So take a look at the polling analysis here, and know that we here at campaign HQ are taking this news in stride – it only encourages us to work that much harder over the next 41 days to make sure Dan is the Democratic nominee. Please do what you can, as well, and make a contribution today. After all, we don't want to be surprised on Election Day.

Thank you for all you do.

Very truly yours,

Michael Rendina
Campaign Manager
Hynes for Governor

PS: Primary Election Day is just 41 days away. (I can barely believe it, either!) Dan is the only candidate who can keep the Governor's Mansion in Democratic hands, and make sure Illinois can be put right with a progressive agenda. Help us make our case and sustain this momentum through January by contributing $150, $100, or even $50.

Women for Hynes

Logo

Dear Friend,

As a physician specializing in women's health, I see the unique challenges women face every day, and my husband Dan and I both know the importance of having public servants who address women's issues. That's why, as comptroller, Dan expanded the role of his office to work tirelessly as a consistent guardian of women's rights in Illinois and spearheaded the effort to pass the Adolescent Healthcare Safety Act.

My husband is running for governor because Illinois needs a leader who will address the historic challenges facing our state. His comprehensive budget plan restores our state's long-term fiscal stability while maintaining important social service agencies, including vital programs that protect women against domestic violence.

But Dan needs your help to make sure we get this chance to make women's rights a top priority. Please visit our new "Women for Hynes" page at http://www.danhynes.com/womenforhynes to download a packet on Dan's record on women's issues, sign-up for our women's newsletter, and watch my introduction video.

Women for Hynes Video

From Ida B. Wells and Jane Addams to Carol Moseley Braun and Dawn Clark Netsch, women from Illinois have been at the forefront of our efforts to stand up for women's rights. And that's how it will be in 2010. When Democrats go to the polls on February 2nd, they're going to decide the direction our party and our state will take at this critical juncture in history - and about 60% of those voters will be women.

Please visit our new "Women for Hynes" page to email your friends about Dan's record on women's issues, sign-up for our women's newsletter, and read testimonials from women who are supporting Dan. Invite your friends and ask them to join Women for Hynes.

Thank you for all you do.  Together, we can put Illinois back on the right track.

Health care: Senate vote TONIGHT!

URGENT: Key Senate vote on health care TONIGHT!

It's time to take our biggest step forward on health care in decades.

Send a message to your senator now!

Dear Supporter,

Late tonight, the Senate is set to hold its most important vote on health care to date. It is the first in a series of key procedural votes that will need 60 votes to clear.

And it's going to be tough.

We're nearing the end of a difficult road. We know the Senate bill in its current form falls short of the ideal we've all been working for these past months. We, and others in the faith community, still have deep concerns, particularly when it comes to affordability for low-income families...so why are we asking you to take action now?

Simple. We just couldn't tell the 30 million uninsured Americans who will gain coverage under this bill to wait any longer.

For three decades, we've been holding out for a better health care deal [1]. During that time, hundreds of thousands of our brothers and sisters have filed for bankruptcy or even died because they lacked adequate health insurance. For too long we have tolerated a system that consistently turns its back on those our faiths call us to care for most.

This bill will change that. While not perfect, the bill contains several important measures that will dramatically improve upton the health care status quo [2]. The Senate legislation:

  • Prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions or canceling coverage if you get sick.
  • Ensures that you won't lose your coverage if you lose your job.
  • Curbs increases in premium costs.
  • Adds consumer protections like requiring insurance companies to spend 85 cents of every dollar they receive on care, instead of administration and profits.
  • Provides premium assistance for low- and middle-income families.

This is more than we've ever done to make health care affordable for all American families, but we still need your help to make it happen.

Contact your senator today: We can't wait any longer for reform.

As frustrating as the negotiating process has been, as angry as we are with the insurance companies and grandstanding legislators, at the end of the day, we believe this bill is about giving 30 million more of our friends and neighbors peace of mind, and in some cases, a lifeline.

They've waited long enough.

Please write your senator today.

Thank you for all you do,

Beth, Katie, Dan, Kristin and Jennifer

The Faithful America Team

PS: Help us continue our work on health care reform and other important issues in 2010. A generous donor has agreed to double any gift to Faithful America now through Dec. 31st! Please help us pass fight for health reform in 2010 and have your gift doubled today!

A Major Endorsement For Governor Quinn

Gov. Pat Quinn

A MAJOR ENDORSEMENT FOR GOVERNOR QUINN

Aaron,

Today, Jesse White, Illinois' Secretary of State and one of our most well-respected public servants, threw his support behind Pat Quinn and endorsed his campaign for Governor.

Secretary White commended Governor Quinn as "honest and hardworking," and as someone who "has spent his career fighting for the working men and women of this great state."

And that's not all.  Last Sunday, the Chicago Tribune released a poll indicating that Governor Quinn has a strong lead over our primary opponent.

Contribute today!

At Quinn for Illinois, we're excited.  It's clear that our message of jobs and growth is resonating strongly with people across Illinois.

However, we can't slow down or stop now.  We need a strong campaign in the final 48 days before the election, and we need your help.

We will put every dollar you give us towards achieving victory in February.  We need yard signs, buttons, phones, and more, and you can help today by making a contribution of $25.

Governor Quinn has spent his 10 months in office working to restore and add jobs to Illinois' economy.

His plan is helping our universities add new buildings, auto manufacturers save jobs, and green companies to get a leg up.

Show your support for Governor Quinn's plan by contributing today.

Contribute today!

Let's work together for a victory on February 2nd.

We Want You Working

Gov. Pat Quinn

A MESSAGE FROM QUINN FOR ILLINOIS

Aaron,

Addressing the Democratic National Convention in 1932, Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt of New York asked the question, "What do the people of America want more than anything else?"

Roosevelt knew Americans wanted two things: "Work, with all the moral and spiritual values that go with it; and with work, a reasonable measure of security--security for themselves and for their wives and children."

Over a half century later, we're grappling with some of the same challenges Americans faced in 1932.  For many, both work and security seem out of reach.

Illinois' economy has been sorely hit by the "Great Recession," and families are struggling to put food on their tables.

Illinoisans who once worked well-paying and rewarding jobs now find themselves unemployed, with few prospects for the future.

Governor Quinn knows how difficult the times are for most people.  It seems everyone knows someone who has lost their job, or has lost a job themselves.

Wall Street may be declaring the recession officially over, but the downturn is still a fact of life for families across Illinois.

Governor Quinn isn't content to wait out the economic storm. Crises demand leadership and decisive action, and that's exactly what our Governor has provided.

In July, Governor Quinn signed Illinois Jobs Now!, the state's first jobs plan in 10 years. And yesterday, Governor Quinn unveiled his plan to generate further recovery and renewal in Illinois.

The Illinois Economic Recovery Plan calls for investment in five key areas: infrastructure, human capital, innovation, international trade, and the green economy.

Our campaign is a fight against unemployment.  We want to make sure that every Illinoisan has the chance to work and provide for their family.

As Governor Quinn says, "If you're willing, we want you working."

The fundamentals haven't changed since F.D.R.'s speech in 1932.  The people of our state still want and deserve meaningful work and a chance to get ahead.

It's time to fulfill that promise once again.

Thank You,

John Kamis
